Cinnamon Kitchen was established in London in 2008, and since then they have become known as one of the finest modern Indian restaurants in the city. The restaurant is not typical by any measure of the fact, they aim to combine the authentic spices of India, with classic British culinary traditions and ingredients.
The creator of the independent restaurant chain, Vivek Singh, is known for his dynamic cooking and changing the face of Indian recipes. He evolves the dishes, he says: ‘beyond authenticity’. Singh is the Chief and CEO of 4 restaurants in London, and now globally known for marrying Eastern flavour with Western technique. He has also written six books, three of which are best selling cookbooks, and featured on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen and Celebrity MasterChef.
Cinnamon Kitchen required some content for their annual House of Holi event, this includes eating delicious Indian food created by Vivek and his team and then paint throwing in the name of the spirit of Holi. This celebration was beautiful to capture on camera.
Not only did we get the opportunity to record this stunning celebration of colour, we also got behind-the-scenes access into the kitchen itself. We filmed Vivek and his team making naan, grinding up authentic spice mixes and cooking kebabs on the tandoor. This made for a vibrant and unforgettable shoot.
