The LFC Foundation is Liverpool Football Club’s official charity, committed to transforming lives and creating meaningful opportunities for those in need. As part of the Premier League’s ‘More Than A Game’ campaign – an initiative that celebrates local heroes through the prestigious Community Captain Award – clubs across the Premier League, EFL, and National League are recognising individuals who play a vital role in their Premier League-funded programmes and make a lasting impact on both the game and society.
Liverpool FC proudly selected Mark Henderson as their Community Captain, honouring his unwavering dedication and exceptional contributions to the community. During a special Red Neighbours event at Anfield, goalkeeper Alisson Becker made a surprise appearance to personally present the award, paying tribute to Mark’s inspiring efforts in supporting those in need and making a real difference in people’s lives.
This was a community event where local members gathered to socialise and play bingo at one of the suites inside Anfield stadium. We worked alongside The Anfield Wrap to film for the LFC Foundation as part of a Premier League campaign, capturing key moments from the event. This included the initial surprise of the guests, attendees enjoying the gathering, preparing Alisson Becker for audio recording and ensuring high-quality footage for use. Thanks to Kev Reilly, who played a key role in the editing process.
The video was shared across Instagram, Twitter and even appeared on the Liverpool FC website, reaching a massive global audience. After being posted on the LFC, LFC Foundation and Premier League social media channels, it amassed over 2 million views and gained further recognition when it was featured live on Sky Sports Main Event just before the Liverpool vs Wolves match in February 2025. Renowned Sky Sports presenter Kelly Cates provided commentary on the video, highlighting the impact the event had on the local community. This widespread coverage showcased the power of football in bringing people together and celebrating those making a difference.
