About UKH Foundation

The UKH Foundation was set up in 2014 with the mission of promoting mental and physical health via the provision of financial support to charities and other organisations devoted to these goals or other unique philanthropic causes.

The history of the foundations began in the nineteenth century with the establishment of hospital contribution schemes. Prior to the creation of the NHS in 1948, they helped support local hospitals by collecting money from employees at the “factory gate” on the day they got their paychecks.

Currently, the foundation is administered by four volunteer trustees. In accordance with the foundation’s overarching objective and purpose, the board of trustees determines which deserving initiatives will get assistance.

What we did

For the UKH Foundation, we were tasked with designing and developing a custom WordPress website from scratch. This meant that we did not utilise any WordPress-provided templates. The beauty of this is that we were able to supply UKH with just what they need and make their website more suited to their company.

We also were tasked with re-branding the foundation from an outdated orange design to create a more welcome and calming colour scheme as well as choose a new font and photography direction.

Creating a website for a foundation is a slightly more challenging task than for a fashion brand or hospitality company, because the website needs to be informative and also motivate people in increase awareness about the foundation’s work. That is why the chosen layout is minimalistic for readers and the colour scheme is warm and earthy to create a sense of inclusion, highlighting the foundations values.

Results

The website is now complete, and we continue to assist the UKH foundation with any other adjustments and functionalities they may require. One of the main aspects of the website and something that will help so many was creating a form for charities to apply for funding from the foundation.

Also, two of the trustees were kind enough to offer their opinions on the work we did for them:

“The new site looks amazing and will help us to raise awareness of the foundation and help us to support even more local North West charities”

Julie Hulme – UKH Foundation Trustee

“We are incredibly proud of the identity you have created at Adjust Studio”

Andrew Redfern – UKH Foundation Trustee
